Today i talk about making great content. To me this is content that is intriguing. This typically is information you can’t get any place else. It is one of a kind (or hard to find) information. An example of this is Mar Maron and his WTF podcast. He is interviewing comedians about their life along with his stories of being a comedian. To me this goes for why Howard Stern was/is a success on radio. He gave glimpses behind the scenes of running a radio show (arguing with the station manager etc).
Is it just behind the scenes stuff?
This is not just talking about things in your life. To me, its behind the scenes information that still pertains to your topic. The Howard Stern show was about Howard and his struggles. Marc Maron doesn’t talk about his equipment, as its not about being a comedian. There are times when I hear people go very deep into their personal life, and while this makes the host seem more human – I fell you can overdo it with this type of information if it takes over in place of “normal” content. Obviously if you podcast is about your life stories that is a whole different podcast.
