How To Read Without Sounding Like You’re Reading with Jodi Krangle

Some people can “riff” off the top of their heads, while others need a script. Do whatever works for you, but when it SOUNDS LIKE YOU'RE READING, it can lose listeners. Today I bring in Professional Voiceover Artist Jodi Krangle to give us some tips on how to sound natural. She also shares some insights on the voiceover industry and her pet peeves in podcasting.

Jodi has been doing voiceover work for 17 years in addition to singing and many other talents. You've heard her in commercials for Coke, Auto Zone, Fancy Feast, the NFL and more. So when I wanted some tips for the audience on reading without sounding like reading, Jodi was the first person that came to mind.

Dave Is Moving on To New Adventures

From 7/12/24

I have such a mix of emotions today. I am excited about a new adventure I’ll announce on the 29th. Today is my last day at Libsyn after working with their amazing team for eight years. I thank them for all the opportunities they gave me. Just to be clear, there is nothing wrong with Libsyn. You are in the capable hands of John Gibbons and the team. They have some fun stuff on the way that I promised not to talk about.

I will miss the entire support team, which is filled with dedicated people focused on 100% satisfaction. My fellow Hall of Famers Rob and Elsie (who I’ve known for 19 years) and their amazing marketing team. It was NOT an easy decision, and when you hear where I’m going (and what I’ll be doing), you’ll see it’s simply a better fit for my educational skillset. There is a lot of sweat in that Libsyn logo, which is mine, and I wish them all the best moving forward. ”

Question of the Month

Per Jacobs Media, 70% of Podcast Discovery comes from word of mouth. With this in mind, what was the last thing you recommended to someone, and (more importantly) why? (This doesn't have to be a podcast, but if it is cool!). I need your answer by July 26th, 2024. Don't forget to say the name of your show, your website address, and a little bit about it (your tagline, etc). Don't have a website? Order a domain at Coolerwebsites.com
